Podcast Guru Release Notes - Version 1.5.0

Welcome to Podcast Guru Release Notes - Version 1.5.0! We are at it again, releasing bug-fixes and improvements for Podcast Guru. We hope you find the fixes you are looking for listed here. If not, just be sure the goal with all our fixes is to improve the overall user experience.

Improvement

  • [PG-594] - Update play speed icons
  • The Play Speed icons in Now Playing need to be updated with new assets. Icons should be able to work in SVG format.
  • [PG-595] - Playlist Empty State Asset needs update
  • The playlist empty state asset is our of date and need to be changed to the new one.
  • [PG-596] - Check Action bar font spec
  • Action bar font style looks like it's not in spec. It looks too thin.
  • [PG-597] - System bar icons need to be update.
  • We also cleaned up the share functionality in the UI. Now the "share this app" icon can be found in the navigation bar, while the "share podcast" icon is in the podcast list/details where it belongs. This was a suggestion from a user on our Google Play listing.

Bug

  • [PG-593] - [Crashlytics] [Linked Issue] SettingsFragment$3$2 line 190

If you’ve found a bug we’d love to hear about it! Please visit our support page and send us a message. If you love the app as much as we do, please leave a review for Podcast Guru in the Google Play Store.

Podcast Guru Release Notes - Version 1.4.9

Welcome to our first release notes: Podcast Guru Release Notes - Version 1.4.9! We have always been releasing bug-fixes and improvements for Podcast Guru since we originally released it. But this is our first post to share the changes and improvements we are making to the app. We hope you find the fixes you are looking for listed here. If not, just be sure the goal with all our fixes is to improve the overall user experience.

Task

  • [PG-570] - create events
  • Create events for the following: first_run, discovery_page_open, subscribe_podcast.

Improvement

  • [PG-386] - Auto retry local playback on failure
  • During local playback (not cast playback), whenever an issue occurs playback completely stops and an error notification is shown. We modified this behavior in the MediaPlayerAudioService such that when an error is encountered playback is simply restarted.

Bug

  • [PG-558] - Fix 9001 custom error
  • Made custom timeout error code messaging more friendly.
  • [PG-559] - Make -1010 error more user friendly
  • Improved messaging on this timeout error.
  • [PG-564] - [Crashlytics] [Linked Issue] FragmentWithStoragePermission
  • Fixed issue related to storage permission
  • [PG-567] - [Crashlytics] [Linked Issue] PodcastAudioService line 1065
  • onStartCommand was called without an Intent payload. Added a check for it and also will be on the lookout for future occurrences.
  • [PG-568] - [Crashlytics] [Linked Issue] ActivityThread.java line 1747
  • Reduced the number of calls to startForeground by adding some levers, such as relying on startPaused and startForeground params.

If you've found a bug we'd love to hear about it! Please visit our support page and send us a message. If you love the app as much as we do, please leave a review for Podcast Guru in the Google Play Store.

What? We changed the name to PhotoStacks?

Yes! We changed the name to PhotoStacks!

Why, do you ask? We changed the name to PhotoStacks from PhotoStaxx because we felt the new name is more intuitive. It is a better way to express what the app is. What is more, it reflects the seriousness and quality that we are designing and developing into the PhotoStacks app. We hope our users appreciate the results and are happy with the features and experience.

As always, if you have any questions or ideas for improvements to the app, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to drop us a message at [email protected].

Thanks, and happy PhotoStacking!

PhotoStaxx update leaves the MVP a distant memory!

PhotoStaxx update version 1.0.1 is released!

We are excited to announce that PhotoStaxx update version 1.0.1 is out and available on the App Store! PhotoStaxx is much more powerful as well as more intuitive. It now has a four-direction swipe gesture. So you can keep, favorite, delete, or remove media from a stack, without needing to adjust the app's settings. In fact, this simplified the app so much we've removed settings! The swipe gesture now works in full-screen mode. And you have the ability to share your media from within the app. Videos are now playable from the stack in full-screen mode.

We knew that the original version was a bit hard to understand from a cold install, but it was the MVP (minimal viable product) after all. With this PhotoStaxx update, we knew we had to help our users understand how the swipe gesture works from the get-go. So we included an informative first-run tutorial, so you all know what to do! We also knew that the best way to learn an app is to use it. So we created informative visual feedback in the app, so you know what swipe direction does what, while you are doing it! The statistics section is now easier to access. Last but not least, we made several bug fixes and improvements.

We hope you enjoy the PhotoStaxx experience. If you find any issues, please let us know. We are always working to improve it.

Upgrade now, or if you have not already, give PhotoStaxx a try!

PhotoStaxx Will Cleanup Your Messy iPhone Photo Album

PhotoStaxx Will Cleanup Your Messy iPhone Photo Album

iPhone Photo Album a mess? Well, we have been busy working on a new app called Photostaxx. It not only organizes your iOS photo album, it will reclaim iPhone storage space too. And it's finally available for download from the App Store! The idea behind the app is pretty simple. We at Really Bad Apps take a ton of photos. You name it, we've taken it (well, almost ;) ). And if you are like me, you'll have taken five or six copies of the same photo just to make sure you captured the moment just right. All of those selfies, poses by statues of important guys you'll never remember, fancy meals to make friends jealous, or the awkward ex-photos -- those photos and videos take up lots of space!

Photostaxx will organize your iPhone photo album

Stacks will help you swipe away the clutter from your albums

Because of this, some of us have reluctantly started paying for Cloud storage services to store the contents of our bloated albums. But why pay to store what you probably don't even want? This is where PhotoStaxx comes in. The app was designed to use a simple swiping gesture to make deleting, copying, and organizing your photos easy.  The app treats your device's albums as stacks of photos. This makes it easy to manage the contents with the swiping gesture. Just swipe the top photo on the stack to the left to delete. Swipe to the right to keep. And swipe up to copy the photo or video to another stack. You can save a ton of space, and get your albums organized at the same time. It's also a great way to enjoy your photos again!

Give it a spin... no, a swipe!
